Nico was recently interviewed by Seventeen magazine:

Exclusive Interview: Scream 4′s Nico Tortorella
The Scream 4 star talks about watching the original movies for the first time, jerky guys, and falling in love in high school.

Scream 4 Nico Tortorella plays the hot, cocky dude who can have any girl, but in real life, he knows what it’s like to have to fight for a girl’s attention. The Make It Or Break It cutie sat down with Seventeen to dish about guys who think they’re better than everyone else, dating in high school, and finally watching those original Scream movies.

Have you always been a big Scream fan?
I hadn’t actually seen any of the first three movies until I was halfway through the audition process. But now I’m a big fan. I was a bit young when those movies came out. I remember the Scary Movie series coming out for sure, and I was a big fan of those. It’s funny. After seeing the first three originals and working on the forth, those Scary Movies make a lot more sense now than they did when I was a kid. The first audition scene that I read was the last scene in the first movie. So I had no idea what was really going on when I auditioned for the first time. And then I watched the movie and was like, ‘Oh, that’s why they had me read that scene!’

Your character in this movie is dating Emma Roberts, and kind of a big-deal hot guy on campus. Did you know guys like that in school?
For sure. All of the partying jocks in my high school—mostly the wrestlers—were the guys I based this character on. They walked around in their jerseys thinking that they were the greatest thing in high school and that everybody else was beneath them.

That sounds really different from your character on Make It Or Break It, who’s sort of on the sidelines, pining for a girl who is in love with his friend. Which guy is closer to who you are, in real life?
First of all, I love Razor. He’s definitely the most like me, of any character that I’ve ever played. In high school, there was this one other guy who always dated the same girls as I did. Like I was dating this one girl and then six months later, he was dating her. There was a group of four girls who we both dated. There was another girl who he was dating, but I fell in love with and started writing songs about freshman year, and then I won her over. But then, sophomore year, it was the reverse and I was with this girl and he did the same type of thing, and it happened throughout all of high school.
