“The Following” – Pilot reviews

Posted by Michele on Wednesday May 30, 2012 at 1:14 am PDT

Screeners of the pilot episode of “The Following” have apparently been sent out to blogs and journalists as the first reviews and comments are starting to surface, and they are all positive! Some highlights:

Danielle Turchiano at Made Possible by Pop Culture blogs:

Kevin Williamson set the bar high this year with a dark, twisted script that in no way seemed like it could work on network television. But thankfully the team assembled to create the pilot didn’t f— it up!

[...] This show feeds the procedural need in much of FOX’ audience by offering a “case of the week” with a murder or kidnapping, but at its core its much more about the mental games and the subconscious connection between two men who are on the edge. They say there is a thin line between cop and criminal, and you will never see that picture better painted than in this new show.

Jean Bentley, contributing editor at Zap 2 It, tweets:

Was terrified to sleep after watching #TheFollowing. @kevwilliamson is an evil genius.

The Televixen tweets:

Holy freakin freakity freak!!! #TheFollowing is hands down one of the best pilots I’ve ever seen! Major kudos to @kevwilliamson & @msiega

Alix Sternberg, who runs The TV Chick, tweets:

The script for #TheFollowing shook me up, so it’s no surprise that the pilot had the same effect. Enthralling, amazing & totally brilliant.

More will be posted at they become available.
