Fox recently released a featurette for “The Following” and Nico is briefly featured in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it frame walking away from a car with co-star Adan Canto. Two screen grabs have been added to the gallery here. Watch the whole video over at Spoiler TV.
A new promotional poster for “The Following” has also been released to promote the show’s current screening. It does not feature Nico, but it’s pretty awesome so make sure you check it out in the gallery.
Io9 recently had the chance to interview Dean Koontz, author of the “Odd Thomas” saga, and asked him about the upcoming movie. The article doesn’t mention Nico directly but features some nice quotes about the movie and some lovely stills of Anton Yelchin as Odd Thomas so make sure you pay it a read by following this link.
Nico is featured in the new Summer/Fall 2012 issue of “Hero”, a bi-annual men’s fashion magazine. Model Arthur Gosse graces the cover, while Nico is featured in a spread previewed by the magazine’s official site:
I have ordered a copy earlier today and will post scans as soon as I receive it.
According to a recent twit by Marcos Siega, director of the Kevin Williamson’s pilot starring Nico, the show is not titled “Mastermind” as previously stated by The Hollywood Reporter. FOX is expected to announce next season’s line-up and the show’s fate during their upfront presentation in New York on May 14.
“MAKE IT OR BREAK IT”:
This is not directly related to Nico, but it’s still worth a mention since the show launched Nico’s career. ABC Family and showrunner Holly Sorensen confirmed that the current third season of “Make it or Break it” will sadly be its last. The series finale is scheduled to air on May 14. Make sure you tune in and support the show one last time.
According to IMDb (so take this with a grain of salt) Nico’s upcoming movie “Odd Thomas” is being released on October 3 in Belgium and the following day in Netherlands.
A slightly different edit of the synopsis for the untitled Drake Doremus feature as of a late June draft of the casting call:
Other characters being casted are Clément: a good looking French exchange student staying with Sebecks (I suppose this is the surname of the main family); and Lauren a girl who, among other things, tries to seduce Aaron (Nico’s character) back after sleeping with him.
According to articles production started on August 13 in New York. On an unrelated note, “Odd Thomas” wrapped filming yesterday.
According to Reelz Channel production on “Odd Thomas” was put on hiatus:
Nico is back on Twitter folks! Please give a warm welcome back to @_NicoTortorella! We missed his accidental pocket tweets, didn’t we? Ad his profile photo he has chosen a pic from the set of “Odd Thomas” (currently filming in New Mexico).
As I reported in the previous article Nico was recently cast in “Odd Thomas”, the movie adaptation of novelist Dean Koontz book by the same title.
Stephen Sommers (“The Mummy” and “G.I. Joe”) has written the screenplay and will be directing the feature, produced independently by Howard Kaplan (“The Good Sheperd”) and John Baldecchi (“The Mexican”). Already confirmed to star are Anton Yelchin (“Star Trek” – as the title charachter, a short-order cook who can commune with the dead), Addison Timlin (“Californication” – as Stormy, Odd’s girlfriend), Willem Dafoe (“The Aviator” – as Wyatt Porter, the local police chief) and as of last night, comedian Patton Oswalt (“United States of Tara” – as Ozzie, an eccentric artist who designs sculptures).
All we know for sure is that Nico will play the villain, an officer working under Wyatt Porter, secretly a member of a Satanic cult bent on destroying the town. The book features two characters that match this criteria: Officer Bern Eckles (that I would rule out since he is described in the casting sides as being “Big, Strong, muscular”) and Officer Simon Varner (my guess), described in the casting sides as “a handsome, smart cop” and in the original book as having “a face as sweet as that of any host of a children’s TV program, with heavy-lidded eyes like those of the late actor Robert Mitchum”.
The film shoots in Santa Fe and Albuquerque (New Mexico) from May 12 through July 15, 2011.
Nico has joined the cast of “Odd Thomas”, a movie based on a serie of thriller books. According to The Hollywood Reporter:
