“Trespass” Extended Synopsis

Posted by Michele on Saturday August 13, 2011 at 12:46 am PST

An extended synopsis of Nico’s upcoming movie “Trespass” has just been released by Millenium Films:

In a private, wealthy community, priority is placed on security and no exception is made for the Miller family’s estate. Behind their pristine walls and manicured gardens, Kyle (Nicolas Cage), a fast-talking businessman, has entrusted the mansion’s renovation to his stunning wife, Sarah (Nicole Kidman).
But between making those big decisions and keeping tabs on their defiant teenage daughter (Liana Liberato), Sarah often finds herself distracted by a young, handsome worker (Cam Gigandet) at their home. Nothing is what it seems, and it will take a group of cold-blooded criminals led by Elias (Ben Mendelsohn), who have been planning a vicious home invasion for months, to bring the Miller family together. When they storm the manor, everyone is tangled up in betrayal, deception, temptation and scheming. Kyle, Sarah and Avery will take the ultimate risk to make it out with their lives – and their family – intact.

TRESPASS is directed by Joel Schumacher and stars Nicolas Cage, Nicole Kidman, Ben Mendelsohn, Cam Gigandet, Liana Liberato, Jordana Spiro, Dash Mihok, Emily Meade and Nico Tortorella. The film was written by Karl Gajdusek, produced by Rene Besson, Irwin Winkler and David Winkler and was executive produced by Avi Lerner, Danny Dimbort, Trevor Short, Boaz Davidson and John Thompson.
Millennium Entertainment will release TRESPASS on October 14, 2011 in theaters and at home – rent it with your remote control.

New movie: Drake Doremus’ untitled feature

Posted by Michele on Friday August 12, 2011 at 12:02 am PST

According to Variety Nico has joined the cast of Drake Doremus’ upcoming feature:

Mackenzie Davis, Nico Tortorella get key roles in untitled drama
Newcomer Mackenzie Davis and “Scream 4″ star Nico Tortorella are in negotiations for two key roles in Drake Doremus’ untitled feature. Guy Pearce, Amy Ryan and Felicity Jones are set to star in the pic, which finds Pearce playing a high school teacher who’s tempted to cheat on his wife (Ryan) with one of his students (Jones).
Davis will play Pearce and Ryan’s daughter, while Tortorella will play a supporting character named Aaron, a popular jock on the swim team who has a reputation for sleeping with girls and treating them poorly.

Doremus, whose upcoming romantic drama “Like Crazy” won the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance, is directing from a script he wrote with Ben York Jones — though like with “Crazy,” the cast is required to improvise.
Super Crispy Entertainment principals Jonathan Schwartz and Andrea Sperling will produce along with Steven Rales and Mark Roybal of Indian Paintbrush, which is financing. Davis, who’s repped by Thruline Entertainment, will make her feature debut with the project.
Tortorella, who recently starred in “Scream 4,” is currently wrapping Stephen Sommers’ “Odd Thomas.” Thesp previously appeared in Joel Schumacher’s “Twelve” and will soon be seen in the helmer’s thriller “Trespass” alongside Nicole Kidman and Nicolas Cage. He’s repped by Gersh and KLWG Entertainment.

More details will be added as I find them.

Production on director Stephen Sommers’ (The Mummy, G.I. Joe) movie was abruptly halted earlier this week, reportedly over financing troubles, REELZCHANNEL has learned.
According to an email sent by The Screen Actor’s Guild, the movie’s production company, Two Out of Ten Productions, is in default under a SAG agreement.
The email further states that SAG members should not work on Odd Thomas until further instructed.

“Reel Movie” Interview

Posted by Michele on Sunday May 1, 2011 at 2:26 am PST

I’m a little late posting this interview with Reel Movie News, sorry about the delay:

EXCLUSIVE: Nico Tortorella Talks Scream 4 and Playing Tricks on the Cast
Nico Tortorella recently caught up with Reel Movie News to talk about his experience on the set of Scream 4 and what it was like working with such a big cast of great actors.
“This is the second movie I’ve ever done and it was just a monster cast, or a ghost face cast you could say,” he told us. “It was just epic, still is”
He also talked about his new movie Trespass, co-starring Nicholas Cage and Nicole Kidman.
Check out the rest of the interview below. Scream 4 is currently in theaters.

Scream is doing great at the box office. Congrats! How was it working on that film?
Yeah! Thank you! It was awesome. When you go into a movie like this where you know who’s going to die, what’s going to happen and how its going to end, it’s so much fun putting all of the pieces together of how you’re going to get to the final project. The cast was amazing, Wes [Craven] was amazing, Michigan was great. It was one of the best summers of my life.

How was it working with such a huge cast?
It was crazy. This is the second movie I’ve ever done and it was just a monster cast, or a ghost face cast you could say. [laughs] It was just epic, still is.

Did the cast play tricks on each other?
Oh yeah, for sure. We were all staying in different hotels. A few of us would just go late at night and scare other people. We’d put the mask on and go knock on windows. It was fun. We scared the shit out of Emma Roberts one night. At her place, three of us came up to the window; she didn’t know we were coming over. She was terrified. She’s very easily frightened, that one. [laughs] So it was a lot more fun.

Had you seen the other Scream movies? Are you a horror movie fan?
I didn’t grow up watching the Scream movies. I hadn’t watched them until I auditioned. I wouldn’t have made it my first go-to, to see a horror movie out of all movies. Afterwards, I have a huge respect for the genre and the creators, directors and writers. It’s a different kind entertainment. I’ve gone back and watched a lot of Wes Craven’s original movies and he really knows what he’s doing.

Favorite Wes Craven film and horror film in general?
For Wes Craven, The Last House on the Left. Jaws, Hostile and Saw scared the shit out of me.

Tell me about your other film Trespass.
It has Joel Schumacher [director], Nicolas Cage, Cam Gigandet and Nicole Kidman in it. I play a nice little role that comes in half way through the movie. It was fun. I loved working with Joel. It’s a super high paced action hostage movie. It’ll be a good one. Again, another monster cast.
A house gets broken into in a hell hostage, and the whole movie takes place in the house. The house they built was inside the convention center of the hotel we stayed in. It was very easy to get to work. [laughs]

What can you tell me about your character?
He’s the life of the party. That’s all I can tell you.

Nico also wanted me to note that he does not have a Twitter account. Any accounts with his name are fake.

“Michigan Avenue” photo and interview

Posted by Michele on Sunday April 24, 2011 at 1:11 am PST

As I previously reported Nico is featured in the April/May 2011 issue of Chicago’s “Michigan Avenue” magazine with a lovely photo taken by Nico’s brother Rocco (a reprint from the October 2009 issue of “Ocean Drive”) and a handwritten interview. The official site has released a text-less version of the photo as well as a transcription of the interview:

Wilmette native Nico Tortorella is more than just a pretty face—though he is certainly that. The actor, an alum of New Trier Township High School, began acting professionally in Chicago in the seventh grade. He landed his big break on television, with roles in The Beautiful Life: TBL and Make It or Break It, and now he has his eye on the silver screen. In April he stars in the highly anticipated fourth installment of freaky franchise Scream, opposite Emma Roberts and many of the original cast members. We got the scoop on Tortorella’s career goals, what it’s like to film a scary movie and his surprising—and permanent—hobby.

Who was your favorite Scream costar to work with?
NICO TORTORELLA: David Arquette, hands down. Never a dull moment when he’s around. The new cast walked into a family already established and they welcomed us with open arms.

Are there moments when it’s actually scary working on a horror movie set?
NT: The voice of Scream, Ghostface, was the scariest part. The actor who plays him—the voice—was on set the whole time but no one knew who he was…It was pretty scary.

What was the hardest part about transitioning from modeling to acting?
NT: People always ask me this question, and its funny because I’ve always been an actor first and foremost. Modeling is fun, but the screen is where my heart is.

Who is your dream actor or director to work with?
NT: I have such a hard time answering this question. I feel like anyone I say would just sound cliché. Clearly all the classics, and all the up-and-comers. Can I say everyone?

How many tattoos do you have? What do they symbolize?
NT: Eight or nine. It’s always a work in progress. My body is a personal journal throughout the years. [It's] a lot of family tats and my connection to nature.

If you weren’t an actor, what would you be?
NT: A sustainable developer; green architect. One of my dreams is to buy pre-war standing buildings and renovate them to be one-hundred percent sustainable. I’ll get to it one of these days.

You can read the same interview handwritten by Nico following this link.

Thanks Tiffany at Nico-Tortorella.org for the heads up.

New project: “The Walk of Fame”

Posted by Michele on Monday April 18, 2011 at 1:46 pm PST

According to an article recently posted on “Interview” magazine’s website Nico will be starring in a new movie directed by actor Thomas Dekker:

Thomas Dekker [...] has already graduated to write and direct his first feature film, called The Walk of Fame. (It’s set to begin shooting this month with fellow young upstarts Nico Tortorella and Shiloh Fernandez and will be produced by Christine Vachon’s Killer Films.) [...]

I will try and find more information about the movie but right now this is all I could find. Thanks to Marie for the heads up.
